The Moldovan Academy is hosting the first ever Preschool Recognition Ceremony on May 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. The ceremony will provide an opportunity for the community of Sonoma to participate in honoring and acknowledging administrators and teachers of local preschools for educating the city’s young children. The event will be held at the Presentation School and Louann Carlomagno, superintendent of the Sonoma Valley Unified School District, will be the guest speaker. The public is invited.
Eight Sonoma preschools will be honored for their outstanding educational contributions. Each school administrator will be recognized with a special award, a gift certificate donated from Readers Books and a pass to the annual Sonoma International Film Festival. Each school administrator will also recognize one teacher with a Teacher of the Year Award. Additionally, each school will receive a $100 continuing education scholarship, donated by local businesses and families.
