Outgoing Rotary Club President Sam Morphy, right, passes the “tong torch” to incoming President Bill O’Neal at the Fourth of July Rotary hot dog sale on the Plaza. Fittingly, the ‘ceremony’ took place in front of “The Howie” cooker, named for Sonoma’s late civic leader Howie Ehret. Like Howie himself, his namesake performed well, firing up hundreds of yummy hot dogs and massive turkey legs for the post-parade party.
