Sonoma concierge wins industry honor

Nancy Boerum, concierge at Sonoma’s MacArthur Place Hotel won the Grand Prize at the 2014 CANVAS (Concierge Alliance of Napa Valley and Sonoma) Excellence Awards at the Performing Arts Center at the Lincoln Theatre in Napa Valley.

Other winners from Sonoma Valley included John Burdick of Olive and Vine in the Culinary/Restaurant–Sonoma category, and Alan Wastell, Tasting Room Manager at Anaba Wines in the Wine Staff–Sonoma category.

Tuesday night’s awards and gala at the Lincoln Theater in Yountville recognized and honored hospitality industry employees from Napa and Sonoma Counties who have taken the extra step to ensure visitor experiences result in a positive and memorable Wine Country visit.

Awards were given in categories that included Beauty and Health, Concierge (Napa and Sonoma), Culinary/Restaurant (Napa and Sonoma), Retail/Art, Tour Guide, Wine Staff (Napa and Sonoma). The evening culminated with the Grand Prize of the night, the Robert Mondavi Excellence Award, going to Boerum.
