Arts Guild opens May show

The Arts Guild of Sonoma opens its May exhibition with the Opening Reception on Saturday, May 2, 4 pm – 7 pm at 140 East Napa St.

Artists, friends and the extended community are invited to attend this lively social gathering and enjoy local wine and refreshments.

The featured artists this month are Thena Trygstad (sculpture at left) and Kirk Hinshaw, who both produce whimsically, playful and fancifully, surrealistic sculpture and mixed media which highlights re-purposed and the unintended use of objects from all areas of common life. The show runs through June 1.

The exhibition will also be showing the work of Guild Memebers Sophie Acheson, Patricia Akay, Barbara Aliza, Anji Bartholf, George Dawnay, Dee Dushkes, Irene Guidici Ehret, Zaza Feterly, Yvonne Giambroni-Martin, Christine Gonzalves, Susan Heeringa-Pieper,Carol Larson, Jackie Lee, Nancy Martin, Brian Martinelli, Loran May, Helen Mehl, Ruby Newman, Bev Prevost, Joan Shepherd and Lyn Swan.

From April through August we are having our silent auction fundraiser with new artists presenting original work each month. The artwork will have a value of $300. with bids starting at $150 with an option to buy it now. The Guild artists donating their work for the May auction are Sophia Acheson, Patricia Akay, Roberta Alexander, Irene Ehret Guidici, Jackie Lee and Lyn Swan.
