Addressing the housing shortage

Upcoming public meetings on the lack of affordable housing in Sonoma Valley:

Methodists Hosting Housing Discussion, Sunday, June 14

Sonoma United Methodist Church is hosting a discussion of the Valley’s increasingly difficult housing situation after worship Sunday, June 14, and is inviting concerned members of the community to attend.

The discussion will be preceded by a potluck at 11:15, and all are welcome to bring a covered dish. The discussion will begin around noon and will be facilitated by members of the church’s Spiritual Action group. Sonoma United Methodist is at 109 Patton Street in Sonoma.

Forum on Housing and Tenants in El Verano, Wednesday, June 17

Groups from Sonoma and the Springs are holding a forum on housing and tenants at El Verano Elementary School, from 6:00-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 17. The forum is being sponsored by the school, La Luz Center, the Spiritual Action Group of Sonoma United Methodist Church, and the North Bay Organizing Project.

The community is invited to come to participate in a conversation about housing and what can be done to protect tenants in the Sonoma Valley. El Verano Elementary School is at 18606 Riverside Drive, between El Verano Avenue and Boyes Boulevard.
