Valley nonprofits eligible for advertising grant

County discretionary funds are once again available to support nonprofits by helping to underwrite the cost of advertising events, according to Supervisor Susan Gorin.

During the fiscal year that ended June 30, Gorin dispersed $41,400 to some 20 charities through the Category E Advertising Program. “It is an honor to be able to recognize through, the grant process, the many wonderful nonprofits serving the needs of locals,” Gorin said. “This is one way we are able to support fundraising efforts that directly impact the population.”

In what she called “one of the most rewarding aspects of my job,” Gorin will this fiscal year award $45,317 to support non-profits. The application period for grant funding is now open. Any non-profit entity, regardless of current and historical participation, may apply and all organizations will be required to apply/request grant funds regardless of whether or not they have previously received a grant through this program.
