TeenServices3In a visit to the Springs that included a public meeting and visit to the Teen Services Sonoma, Assemblyman Bill Dodd, second from right, meets James Cardenas, Teen Center coordinator; Gina Cuclis, Sonoma County Board of Education Trustee, Marguerite LaDue, the center’s board president and Cristin Lawrence its executive director.

Dodd’s two-hour visit on Friday started with a community meeting attended by about 20 residents and community leaders at the Sonoma Valley Grange Hall. Cuclis, who moderated, asked each person to tell Dodd one thing the assemblyman should know about the Springs. “Housing needs, the diversity of the community, childcare, preschool, parks, business concerns, and the proposed plaza for Boyes Hot Springs were among the numerous issues stated,” she said.

Dodd also visited Nuestra Voz, La Luz Center, the MidPen affordable housing site, and the proposed location for a plaza on the stub of Boyes Boulevard. Dodd said he was “impressed with the caliber of the nonprofits, and how involved in their community Springs residents are.” The current 4th District Assemblyman recently announced his candidacy for the State Senate in District 3.
