The grant will cover the costs of the planning team, planning process, county staff resources, community outreach, development of the specific plan and environmental documents.

The planning area covers Highway 12 from Fetters Hot Springs, south through Boyes Hot Springs to the border of Maxwell Farms Park on Verano Avenue. It extends back several parcels from the highway corridor.

The overall project is overseen by the County’s Permit and Resource Management Department. PMRD’s Yolanda Solano said the Springs Area Plan will guide future development and gradually transform the area into a more vibrant and sustainable, pedestrian-oriented community, with a focus on active transportation and enhanced transit opportunities.

  1. Is there a reason you omitted my name on the list of members? I have been involved in Springs issues since 1985 and was active in the 1994 Springs Plan. As an resident of the Springs and a REALTOR, I bring history and a view to housing needs in the study area.

    1. Sorry Cathy, nothing personal! Your name was inadvertently lost in a cut-and-paste move, but has been restored.
