Meet and Greet with new SV Museum director

The Sonoma Valley Museum of Art announced Linda Cano as its new Executive Director last month and invites members of the community to a meet and greet open house on Sunday, February 28 from 3 – 5 p.m. at the museum. Refreshments, small bites and wine will be served during the welcome party.

Board President Douglas Fenn Wilson remarks, “I hope the community welcomes Linda with open arms as we look for her to take our museum to the next level. From the get go, we caught a whiff of intelligence, integrity, prescience, and curatorial experience that will help our museum shine for years to come.”

Cano brings extensive academic, curatorial, and museum management experience and established an art consulting firm that managed private and public art collections for museums, organizations and individuals.

Cano was the Executive Director and Chief Curator of the Fresno Art Museum from 2010 to 2014. At this American Alliance of Museums (AAM) accredited modern and contemporary art museum, Cano doubled membership, stabilized its financial position, and executed a new direction that broadened audiences and established marketing and educational programs for public and donor engagement.
