New development director for B&G Clubs

Cary HeadshotBoys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley has tabbed Cary L. Dacy as the organization’s new Director of Development. Dacy was previously with Marin Builders Association in San Rafael. Prior to her brief time at Marin Builders, she served for eight years as Director of Development for Boys & Girls Clubs of Marin and Petaluma, where she received Boys & Girls Clubs of America, National Service to Youth award in 2013 and was nominated for BGCA’s Professional of the Year in 2014.

“Cary brings a wealth of experience to our Sonoma Valley Club” says Robert Hughes, CEO, “we feel very fortunate to have Cary on our team and working to establish long-lasting rewarding relationships with our donors and volunteers. We are confident her past experience with Boys & Girls Clubs will be a key factor in our continued growth, allowing us to serve more children and youth in our community.”

After graduating from the University of North Texas with a Master of Science in Family & Child Psychology, Cary began her career as a counselor for children in child protective services. Since moving to Petaluma in 1996 she has worked for several non-profit organizations including Social Advocates for Youth in Santa Rosa, where she began her career in development. With 15 years of experience in donor relations, marketing, media operations and event planning & production, she brings a passion for creative process within fundraising and an interest in philanthropic trends.

Dacy says, “as someone who has always believed in supporting our future generations, I am thrilled to be back with Boys & Girls Clubs. I’m incredibly impressed by the leadership of the Board of Directors and staff here at BGCSV and 100 West Verano Avenue. I’m looking forward to developing and strengthening relationships between the Club and our supporters”.
