A Sonoma man was tracked down and arrested  after an alleged attack with a deadly weapon in Sonoma’s Depot Park.

Seamus Glennon, 40, is in custody after fleeing the scene on foot at about 1 p.m on February 11. Pursued by police, he ultimately surrendered in the area of West Napa and Fifth Street West.

The unidentified victim was taken by ambulance to Sonoma Valley Hospital and treated for injuries to the hands and face. The man was later released.

According to the sheriff’s report, the victim called 911 and reported that he had just been punched and kicked “by a man named Seamus,” who then fled by foot.

During the ensuing search, an alert deputy located a male subject walking through the Safeway parking lot who matched the description provided by the victim. The deputy attempted to contact the subject verbally by name, but he ran away, cutting through traffic across West Napa Street, and into the parking Sonoma Market parking lot.

Sonoma Police deputies converged on the area and surrounded Glennon, who surrendered. He faces  charges of assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.
