Live from Sonoma, it’s Paws for a Cause

Posted on August 12, 2020 by Sonoma Valley Sun

The annual Paws for a Cause event, benefitting Pets Lifeline, goes online this year for a live-streamed Virtual Gala on Saturday, August 15.

“We put our toe in the water with an online auction in May when we moved Tailwags & Handbags online” said Nancy King, executive director. “Now we are jumping in with both feet into the wonderful world of the virtual event”

“We promise to entertain, make you laugh, throw in a few surprises, do some good old fashion fundraising, and send you off with a smile, all in 45 minutes!”

The event offers two food options. Partner the girl and the fig offers special menu items food, either delivered to your door or for pick-up at its Schellville location. Says King, “Sondra Bernstein and John Toulze have outdone themselves preparing gourmet meals for a stay-at-home event.

There is also an option to donate your meal to the Sonoma Overnight Shelter.

King says the ‘attendees’ will be able to watch the show on their big screen TV and get the full benefit of a gala experience. “With the help of some of our friends, like The Lux Productions, we’ll be broadcasting live from a studio right here in Sonoma on a private YouTube link.”

Auction items range from a pair of his and hers cruiser bicycles to exclusive wine tastings. There’s also a week in a luxurious Cabo condo, valid for over two years.

“I am amazed at the generosity of our local restaurants and wineries. It fills my heart with gratitude that our community businesses who are struggling as well are sharing what they have to support us,” King says.

Only those who register will get the private link to the show. To register, please go to www.petslifeline.org or call the Paws Hotline at 1-877-996-PAWS.
