Paused ‘Paws’ makes the best of it

Paws for a Cause, Pets Lifeline’s big summer fundraiser, with Executive Director Nancy King as host of the live-stream auction, went well in rehearsal. But on broadcast night, like a frisky kitten, things got a little wild. Just before the show, internet service went down, forcing an impromptu move from the decked-out Lux studios to the nearby PLL compound.

With only a slight delay, it was on with the show and the first auction item — champagne and chocolates delivered mid-broadcast to the high bidder. The night included auctioneer Greg Quiroga, a delivered dinner for VIPs, messages from adopted pet families, an update on the new PLL building, and a special message from Cirque du Soleil performers.
