Help wanted: Sonoma City Council

The Sonoma City Council is seeking applications to fill the seat of Rachel Hundley, who officially resigned this week. The term runs through the November election of 2022. 

Individuals interested in serving must be at least 18 years of age and a registered voter in Sonoma, and must be a resident residing within the city limits of Sonoma at the time of appointment.  

Sonoma residency and registered voter status must be maintained throughout the term of office. A completed and signed application must be filed with the Sonoma City Clerk by February 11, 2021, at 12 p.m. Applications are available on the City’s website at www.sonomacity.org/city-council-appointment-application-now-available. 

The Sonoma City Council will publicly review all submitted applications where the applicants meet the qualifications. The Council may hold a public interview process for each candidate.

This application is a public document, although personal information will be redacted. Applications will be compiled and considered by the Sonoma City Council as a part of a noticed public meeting.

Application may also be submitted in person. But call 707.938.3681 to make arrangements as City Hall still remains closed to the public.

    Greater than what it has received so far.
