SOS fed a diverse population in the month of May at their Unity Kitchen

Posted on June 16, 2024 by Sonoma Sun

SOS is working to make sure that no one in Sonoma Valley goes hungry. That includes the families of those who are food deprived, unhoused, working multiple jobs, or homebound.

Every week Executive Director Kathy King sends out an email with reports about the number of meals served, and to whom. Her report for May is about demographics, i.e. the ethnicity and age of those who are being fed.

72% of the 327 unique individuals who received the meals in May are from different ethnic backgrounds, and range in age from 1 to 101 years old.

She points out that, of course, donations during the long hot summer months ahead are most welcome.
